McLaren signs up René Rast for Formula E team

McLaren Racing have announced that former Audi stalwart René Rast has joined its Neom McLaren Formula E team for the all-electric series' Season 9. McLaren's entry into Formula E has come following its acquisition of the Mercedes EQ works outfit, which capped off its presence in the series recently with a second consecutive world title in both the Drivers and Teams championship. Rast, a three-time DTM champion who enjoyed a twelve-year association with Ausi and who competed in Formula E in 2020 and in 2021 with Audi Sport ABT Schaeffler, is the first driver nominated by McLaren for its FE endeavour.
