Russell: No rivalry, Hamilton is the captain

George Russell has explained that he feels no need to fight Lewis Hamilton for what can be perceived as the number one spot at Mercedes. That's because Hamilton with his seven-time World titles is the 'captain of the team and that is how it should be'. This season Mercedes have found themselves in a very different position to the past eight years, the Brackley squad fighting just to be in podium contention never mind win races. Hamilton and Russell each have one top-three showing, but that is by no means the goal for a team that has won seven of the last eight Drivers' titles and a record eight successive Constructors' Championships.
