DHL rescue mission avoided last-minute F1 freight crisis
Formula 1's logistics partner DHL took action last weekend to avoid a major freight crisis that would have prevented three teams from receiving their equipment in time for this weekend's Australian Grand Prix. The three teams had containers on a ship originating from Europe and destined for Australia that was scheduled to complete the trip in 42 days. But logistics issues triggered by global supply chain constraints and the impact of the war in Ukraine set back the ship's timetable by a week, which put the timely delivery of the teams' equipment in Melbourne in jeopardy.
