Russell hopeful Williams pain can turn to Mercedes pleasure
George Russell thinks the three tough years at Williams will stand him in good stead as he makes the step up to Mercedes in 2022. The increasingly loud calls for Russell to join up with the Mercedes team were finally answered by Mercedes boss Toto Wolff and other senior management at the Silver Arrows, and, in a matter of months, we are all set to see how Russell fares against fellow Brit and seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton. Russell has managed to create a very respectable amount of stand-out moments at Williams over the previous three seasons in a car that has often being amongst the slowest of the entire field.
