Mercedes named Team of the Year at Laureus Awards 

The Mercedes Formula 1 team has won the Laureus World Team of the Year Award for the first time at the 2018 Laureus Awards. The reigning F1 world champions have previously been nominated for the gong for three consecutive years between 2015-2017, but missed out on each occasion to the German national football team, the New Zealand national rugby union team, and the Chicago Cubs.  Mercedes - which has claimed four successive F1 drivers’ and constructors’ titles - picked up the Laureus Award at the fourth attempt, beating competition from France’s Davis Cup team, the Golden State Warriors, the New England Patriots, New Zealand’s America’s Cup team and Spanish football giants Real...
