Pirelli expecting two-stop Japanese GP

– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli believes that a two-stop strategy will be the optimum approach for drivers during the Japanese Grand Prix.More durable tyres have led to one-stop strategies being favoured for much of the year, but Pirelli's decision to bring the Super Soft, allied to Suzuka's layout, means stopping twice is expected.If dry and warm, the best strategy for the 53-lap race would be a two-stopper, comprising two stints on Super Softs, of 16 laps each, and a 21-lap run to the flag on Softs.In cooler conditions, a one-stopper could work, made up of one 22-lap stint on Super Softs, then a 31-lap run on Softs to the flag.While the lead runners will start on Super Softs,...
