Haas F1 rivals shocked by Grosjean’s top-six start

Haas’s Formula 1 rivals admit they hadn’t predicted its brilliant form at the Australian Grand Prix, as the outfit ended qualifying best of the rest behind the big three teams. Romain Grosjean recorded the American team’s best-ever grid position by qualifying sixth in Melbourne, ending up four tenths of a second clear of Felipe Massa’s Williams. Massa himself said he was surprised about the Grosjean lap, while Williams’ technical chief Paddy Lowe was full of praise for the job his rivals had done. “The Haas was a surprise and well done to them,” said Lowe. “We hadn’t seen it coming because Romain didn’t get a great lap in Q2.” Grosjean admitted he was not expecting...
