Mercedes announce James Allison as Technical Director

Mercedes have confirmed that ex-Ferrari Technical Director James Allison will be joining the world champions in the same role. He replaces Paddy Lowe, formerly Executive Director (Technical) for Mercedes, who left the team at the end of the 2016 season for what is believed to be another senior position at Williams. Allison was Ferrari’s Technical Director until July last year, when the Briton stepped down to take some time away from Formula One. He will begin his newly created role at Mercedes on March 1.
