McLaren 'a supporter' of budget cap ideas

– New McLaren Executive Director Zak Brown has made clear that his F1 outfit is "a supporter" of budget cap ideas, an area being explored by the sport's new owner, Liberty Media.Ross Brawn, installed by Liberty Media as Managing Director (Motor Sports), has already set out plans to reduce expenditure and create "a healthy Formula 1 from top to bottom".Formula 1 has attempted to introduce a budget cap on several occasions in the past, most recently ahead of the 2010 campaign, only for leading teams to threaten to quit the sport.Despite this 'big team' trend, Brown says McLaren is in favour of a cost cap, and reckons it could fit within Liberty Media's future plans,...
