Liberty Media Complete Formula One Takeover

Liberty Media Corporation have officially completed their acquisition of Formula One, with Chase Carey becoming Chairman and CEO. The news marks the end of Bernie Ecclestone's 40-year tenure in charge of the sport, with the Briton now being confirmed as ‘Chairman Emeritus' of Formula One. In a statement released on the official Formula One website, Ecclestone said: “I’m proud of the business that I built over the last 40 years and all that I have achieved with Formula 1, and would like to thank all of the promoters, teams, sponsors and television companies that I have worked with.
