Wehrlein surprised to fend off Ericsson

– Manor's Pascal Wehrlein admitted he was surprised to beat Sauber rival Marcus Ericsson after finishing 16th at the Singapore Grand Prix.Manor had been adrift of its rivals throughout the course of the weekend but two-stopping Wehrlein overhauled his three-stopping opponent and repelled the Swede across the final stint.Wehrlein ultimately crossed the line just half a second clear of Ericsson and delighted in the achievement."This was definitely the toughest race of the season," said Wehrlein, who competed in Singapore for the first time."I was pushing hard from start to finish, but particularly from the mid-point of the race to make sure we kept Ericsson...
