Bite-size tech: Red Bull RB12 short nose

As already reported back in Canada, it has been now been confirmed by Christian Horner that Red Bull has indeed been using a shorter nose since the Canadian Grand Prix. The tip, which is only 1.5cm shorter, is difficult to discern by eye. The shorter nose not only permits more airflow to travel under its body to improve performance downstream but also changes the way the tip interacts with the front wings ‘neutral’ section, which is the main reason teams are interested in shortening the nose in the first place.
