Monza 'very close' to new F1 deal

Red Bull/Getty Images The President of the Automobile Club d'Italia says Monza is "very close" to extending its deal to remain on the Formula 1 calendar. Monza has hosted the Italian Grand Prix for all bar one year since Formula 1's foundation in 1950 but its current contract expires at the end of 2016. Speaking at the FIA Sport Conference in Turin, ACI President Angelo Sticchi Damiani explained that Monza was edging towards a new deal.
