Carlos Sainz Jr: “I’m very satisfied with my lap in Q3”

Carlos Sainz Jr secured eighth place on the grid for his home Spanish Grand Prix on Saturday, and admitted it was the best he could have hoped for. The Scuderia Toro Rosso driver took his Ferrari-powered STR11 into the top ten shootout in Spain for a second consecutive season, and insists Sunday’s race should be an interesting one, and will be looking for a top ten finish in front of his Spanish fans at the Circuit de Catalunya. “I’m very happy with today’s qualifying!” said Sainz. “We’ve been strong the whole weekend so far and today’s P8 was the maximum we could hope for, and we did it – I’m very satisfied with my lap in Q3. “Tomorrow’s race will be a very...
