Alonso: Q3 must be our aim

Fernando Alonso feels after McLaren-Honda's recent performance gains its aim must be to break into the top ten pole shootout in qualifying to climb through the midfield ranks. The two-time F1 world champion is relishing the prospect of his home Grand Prix in Barcelona and is intrigued to understand how McLaren's updates will perform compared to the team's pre-season efforts during winter testing. After taking his first points finish of the year last time out in Sochi, Alonso is keen to maintain that momentum and feels making it into Q3 in qualifying, something McLaren has failed to do all season, will be key due to the Circuit de Catalunya's characteristics which make overtaking tricky....
