Team tyre allocations remain unchanged amid driver swap

Pirelli has confirmed the tyre allocations for the Spanish Grand Prix remain the same for each team despite Max Verstappen and Daniil Kvyat swapping seats. Red Bull opted to promote Verstappen from Toro Rosso, with Kvyat moving the other way following a largely disappointing start to the season. Teams have to select tyre compounds for each driver eight weeks in advance of a European round, with complete freedom when picking 10 of the 13 sets for the race weekend. With the change in driver line-ups at Red Bull and Toro Rosso, Pirelli has confirmed the team allocations remain the same, with each driver taking over the other’s tyre allocation.
