Pirelli continues 2017 F1 tyre programme at Fiorano

Pirelli is continuing its development programme for its 2017 Formula 1 tyres at Ferrari test circuit Fiorano on Tuesday, with Jean-Eric Vergne driving. The Milan-based firm confirmed that former Toro Rosso driver Vergne, who acts as Ferrari test driver, is piloting a three-year-old Ferrari F14-T for the test. It marks the first time Pirelli has used Grand Prix machinery to evaluate solutions for its 2017 rubber, following on from recent tests undertaken by Pastor Maldonado at Mugello and Barcelona in a GP2 car. Development is expected to progress to modified 2015 F1 cars in the summer to begin testing the wider tyres that are part of the forthcoming 2017 rules overhaul. The Fiorano test...
