Renault signs Chinese karter to academy

– Renault has added Chinese karter Sun Yue Yang to its young driver academy, the fifth member of the revived scheme.Renault brought back its junior programme alongside its full-scale return to Formula 1 and the 15-year-old Chinese kart racer has joined Oliver Rowland, Jack Aitken, Louis Delétraz and Kevin Jörg.Sun is the second Chinese driver affiliated to a Formula 1 team, with Ferrari-backed youngster Guan Yu Zhou currently racing in the European Formula 3 championship.China has never had a Formula 1 driver, with Ma Qing Hua the only driver to participate in a Grand Prix weekend.Ma took part in four practice sessions with HRT at the end of 2012 before a sole Friday outing with...
