Breaking News: Alonso will not race in Bahrain
Bahrain GP: Fernando Alonso will not be racing at this weekend's Bahrain Grand Prix after the Spaniard failed to clear FIA mandatory doctor checks. The McLaren driver was involved in a massive shunt with Esteban Gutierrez during the season opening Australian Grand Prix. This inevitably means, McLaren reserve Stoffel Vandoorne will step into the McLaren for the Bahrain Grand Prix. Motorport.com report that the tests were conducted by the FIA doctors for approximately 90 minutes, and Alonso hasn't addressed the media thereafter.
