Alonso-Gutierrez collision judged ‘racing incident'

Australian Grand Prix – No punishments have been handed out for the spectacular incident between Fernando Alonso and Esteban Gutierrez. The stewards have decided not hand out any penalties for the collision between McLaren's Fernando Alonso and Haas' Esteban Gutierrez, which resulted in the race being red-flagged. On lap eighteen of the Australian Grand Prix, Alonso was attempting to overtake Gutierrez on the approach to turn three. The two drivers clipped each other, resulting in Alonso being sent off the circuit. Alonso's McLaren slid into the gravel trap, dug in, and sent the car barrel-rolling towards the tyre barriers.
