Kimi Raikkonen briefly tested the ‘halo' head protection system The ‘halo' head protection concept has made its first public appearance aboard Kimi Raikkonen’s Ferrari during the third day of Formula 1’s final pre-season test. The device, designed to increase the protection to the driver’s head, was attached to the cockpit of Raikkonen’s SF16-H for a solitary installation lap. Developed by Mercedes in conjunction with the FIA, the world motor sport governing body is pushing to introduce the system for the 2017 season.
