Palmer rues ‘disjointed' first day
With just 37 laps to his tally as Renault experienced software issues, Jolyon Palmer has billed his first day of testing as 'somewhat disjointed.' Just over two months after acquiring the Lotus team, Renault were out on track on Monday for the opening day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya. Palmer put the RS16 through its pace but managed just 37 laps due to software issues. Added to that his best lap time was a 1:29.356, which was slowest of all. But despit the woes, the rookie was happy to be out on track as he prepares for his first season racing in Formula 1.
