Honda to focus strongly on ERS development during testing

Honda's Yasuhisa Arai says that progress has been made for 2016, and that the eight days of pre-season testing will have a lot of time spent on the ERS. The 2015 Honda power unit was believed to be overall quite a strong one, but let down by poor energy regeneration systems and weak deployment of its harvested energy. This left the cars sitting ducks on fast flowing tracks with long straights. Poor reliability also frustrated the team. The new power unit has had a lot of rumours circulate about it already, rumours that focused on continued unreliability. However, a spokesperson has said that these rumours are ‘speculative'.
