De la Rosa: McLaren should aim for 2017

Former McLaren test and reserve driver Pedro De la Rosa believes the Woking team should use the 2016 season as a springboard for a championship challenge in 2017. De la Rosa, who has more recently been employed as a test driver for the Ferrari team, believes McLaren's 2016 focus should be on qualifying improvements and podium finishes, but their attention should be on 2017. McLaren-Honda's tough 2015 rebirth has been well-documented; they could only finish above Manor in the constructors' championship and suffered from a string of performance and reliability issues.
