Raikkonen hit with engine change penalty
Kimi Raikkonen will get a 10-place grid penalty for the Mexican Grand Prix following an engine change ahead of the race. The Finn, who went out in Q2 after he suffered exhaust problems, was already set to start near that back of the grid after needing a new gearbox which meant he was handed a five-place grid penalty. Ferrari has needed to replace the engine too, however, meaning Raikkonen will use his sixth of the season. The engine change means Raikkonen gets 15 positions in penalties in total. He will start the race from 18th place, ahead of the two McLarens of Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button, who were handed 15- and 55-place grid penalties for engine and gearbox changes.
