Button to miss Mexican GP qualifying

McLaren has confirmed that Jenson Button will not take part in qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix. The British driver ran the new-spec Honda power unit in FP1 on Friday but a problem meant his session was cut short while McLaren changed to a fresh engine. After a delayed start, he managed to finish FP2 in ninth. However, his running was limited once again on Saturday morning after another problem with his engine. He managed just four laps and finished bottom of the timesheets. McLaren has now confirmed ahead of qualifying that he will not take part in the session.
