McLaren ‘surprised' by new Honda engine upgrade

McLaren-Honda were surprised by their new engine upgrade ahead of the Russian Grand Prix, as the newly upgraded Honda engine was fitted on Fernando Alonso's McLaren. Following Alonso's deepened frustrations with the Honda power unit, Alonso quite literally publicly embarrassed Formula 1's newcomers, in a result the Spaniard was exclusively gifted with a new engine upgrade, and team-mate Button didn't receive the new engine, which took the final four engine tokens for the season. McLaren have been pleased, during the little running seen in Practice 3, Alonso's pace looked satisfying, with the newly upgraded Honda engine.
