Lotus surprised by Grosjean departure
– Lotus Deputy Team Principal Federico Gastaldi has admitted that the outfit had expected Romain Grosjean to extend his stay with the squad into the 2016 season.Grosjean has spent the entirety of his Formula 1 career with the Enstone-based team, starting with a brief stint in its Renault days in 2009 before he returned under its re-branded Lotus guise ahead of the 2012 campaign.However, Grosjean has opted to leave the outfit and is set to move across to the new Haas team, with an announcement expected on Tuesday."We obviously had Romain and Pastor [Maldonado, who was confirmed for 2016 in the aftermath of the Singapore Grand Prix]," Gastaldi told F1i."Romain has been...
