IndyCar star Wilson dies after crash
British IndyCar driver Justin Wilson has died after suffering a serious head injury on Sunday. Wilson was airlifted to hospital from the Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania after Sage Karam's car spun and crashed in front of him on lap 179 of 200. Ex-Formula 1 driver Wilson, 37, who drove for Andretti Autosport, was struck by flying debris from Karam's car before hitting a wall. IndyCar Series officials announced Wilson's death on Monday evening. Sage Karam tweeted a message of support for Justin Wilson when he was in a coma Mark Miles, CEO of Hulman & Co, the parent company of IndyCar, said it was a 'monumentally sad day for IndyCar and the motorsports community as a whole'.
