Pirelli: Formula 1 ignored 2013 tyre request
– Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has said that the sport ignored a request in 2013 over stint lengths, following Sebastian Vettel's failure at the Belgian Grand Prix.Vettel was attempting a one-stop strategy at Spa-Francorchamps and had completed 27 laps on the Prime tyre when he suffered a failure on the penultimate tour.Vettel reacted angrily to the failure in the aftermath of the race and criticised Pirelli, which has now hit back by revealing that a proposal in November 2013 was rejected."In November 2013, Pirelli requested that there should be rules to govern the maximum number of laps that can be driven on the same set of tyres, among other parameters to do with correct...
