Fake pit stop: Mercedes failed to trick Williams

Mercedes boss Toto Wolff is full of praise for Lewis Hamilton‘s strategy call to pit for intermediate tyres in the race's significant moment. “He got the call right. He had the option because his tyres were degrading and he got it spot-on. Wolff said after the race. 'He made the call. We needed to have the input from the drivers and he was right. It was absolutely the right call but it wasn’t obvious.' 'Williams were very quick, they both had a superb start and then it was impossible to overtake them, but when the weather got a bit more trickier that helped us.'
