Magnussen: Vandoorne deserves to get to F1
– McLaren reserve Kevin Magnussen says there would be "something wrong" if GP2 championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne does not progress to Formula 1.Magnussen made his F1 debut with McLaren last season after beating Vandoorne – one of the team's test drivers – to the 2013 Formula Renault 3.5 title.While Magnussen dropped off the grid as Fernando Alonso returned to McLaren, Vandoorne went on to star in GP2, and comfortably leads this year's standings.Asked if Vandoorne's current level of performance is of concern to him, Magnussen conceded that the Belgian is thoroughly deserving of a promotion."Stoffel is doing a really good job and he deserves to get to Formula 1....
