Buemi fastest in stop-start session – FP1 Report
Practice one got underway at Berlin Tempelhof airport to the usual flurry of activity. The airport-based circuit featured a series of fast, wide corners alongside intricate twisty sections which will provide one of the toughest challenges of the year so far. Drivers spent the first few minutes trying to find the early levels of grip, with many of them running wide and collecting some of the red plastics markers on the outside of the corners. Home driver Nick Heidfeld was the early pace-setter for Venturi, posting a 1:24.731 and had been told to push for a ‘fast lap' before the red flags came out with less than 10 minutes of the session completed.
