Palmer: Important to get as much track time as possible
Jolyon Palmer says it was important for him to get as much track time as possible in his role as reserve driver at Lotus, to prove that he has what it takes to race in F1. The Englishman won the GP2 title last year, but failed to secure a drive on the Formula 1 grid for the 2015 season. He was announced as third and reserve driver at Lotus in January and has made several outings for the Enstone-based squad. He drove the team's E23 on one day during pre-season testing and has completed three first practice sessions for Lotus so far.
