Alonso enjoys 'good' day in McLaren simulator

Fernando Alonso took another step towards returning to the cockpit of his McLaren in the Malaysian Grand Prix after a successful day in the simulator. The Spanish driver visited McLaren's factory in Woking on Tuesday before beginning his first simulator programme since he was sidelined after his crash during testing at Barcelona. McLaren said Alonso had focused on operational work and qualifying and race procedures ahead of next week's race at Sepang, and that he had enjoyed a good day. Alonso missed the season-opening Australian Grand Prix due to the concussion he suffered in the accident.  He was replaced by Kevin Magnussen in the Melbourne event.
