Vergne pips Piquet to Miami pole position
Andretti's Jean-Eric Vergne was the only driver to dip below a 1:06 in closely-contested battle for Miami ePrix pole position. The teams had as little as 40 minutes to prepare their qualifying session after the huge delays that befell the practice sessions earlier in the day. The drivers, however, had no weather issues to worry about, with calm and warm weather meaning they had one less thing to worry about. Group 1: Sebastien Buemi was the first man out of the pits, but it was Jarno Trulli who lead the opening exchanges of laps with a 1:07.958, leading Nick Heidfeld by 0.014 seconds.
