Hamilton hails 'pretty amazing' Jerez test
Lewis Hamilton says he is delighted with the reliability of the Mercedes W06 Hybrid, describing the opening winter test as 'pretty amazing'.
The Englishman completed 117 laps – taking Mercedes' tally for the four-day event to over 500 – on Wednesday at the Circuito de Jerez and set the third fastest time.
Despite a positive end to the Jerez test, it wasn't a trouble-free day. Hamilton caused a red flag in the morning after a spin at the turn 11/12 chicane and a cooling problem also cost him a little bit of track time.
'It's been pretty amazing this week to see how reliable the car has been and how much mileage we've covered,' he said.
