Being an F1 constructor ‘insanity’ – Haas
Gene Haas believes it is “insanity” for a new team to want to start in F1 as a constructor following the demise of Caterham and Marussia. The Haas F1 Team will enter the sport in 2016 and has already confirmed Ferrari as its engine supplier after announcing a partnership last year. Having seen both Caterham and Marussia enter administration, Haas says he doesn't expect Bernie Ecclestone to allow new teams to enter the sport as constructors and is sure his approach is the right one. “Our business model in Formula One is based on our NASCAR race team where we use other people's engines and chassis,” Haas told Autoweek. “If Caterham doesn't come back there are going to be nine teams...
