Hamilton fastest as Mercedes dominates FP1
Full FP1 timesheet HERE Lewis Hamilton set the fastest time of FP1 for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix as Mercedes held a huge advantage over the rest of the field. While the two title protagonists of Hamilton and team-mate Nico Rosberg were separated by just 0.133s, Fernando Alonso in third place was a massive 1.7s slower than Hamilton as the early signs showed no outside threat to the championship battle. Alonso edged out Sebastian Vettel and Daniel Ricciardo as the trio were covered by just 0.16s, while the two Toro Rossos of Jean-Eric Vergne and Daniil Kvyat were next quickest on the timesheets. Valtteri Bottas was eighth fastest but completed just eight laps as he suffered an unusual failure...
