Majority of Caterham staff made redundant
The Caterham F1 Team might be enjoying good news at the moment following an announcement that they will be back on the grid for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix next weekend, but for the majority of their workforce, it's a different feeling altogether. Almost 85 per cent of the team is employed by a company called 1MRT (1 Malaysia Racing Team) which is owned by Tony Fernandes. The remaining 15 per cent are employed by Caterham - the part currently under the control of administrators Smith & Williamson led by Finbarr O'Connell.
