Was Marussia's predicament preordained?
+ On 7 October (two days after the Japanese Grand Prix) Manor Grand Prix Racing, the company which runs Marussia, filed notice with the High Court with the intention of assigning an administrator, but was this scenario on the cards more than 12 months ago?
Currently sitting in ninth place on two points (by virtue of Jules Bianchi’s ninth place finish in Monaco), there is little risk of Marussia losing their spot given Caterham’s withdrawal from the Austin Grand Prix. Marussia then is banking on those two points for a payout at the end of the season; assuming the mechanisms for revenue sharing in Formula One can begin turning in time for the Anglo-Russian squad.
