Rosberg laments one-man fight for pole

Nico Rosberg was delighted to claim pole position at Hockenheim, but admits he would've preferred to go head-to-head with Lewis Hamilton in qualifying. The German will start his home race in P1 ahead of the Williams duo of Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa while his Mercedes team-mate Hamilton will be down in P15. Hamilton lost control of his car in Q1 and went sliding into the barriers, forcing him to miss the final two qualifying sessions. That meant Rosberg had a pretty straightforward run to pole and his 1:16.540 put him ahead of the rest of the pack, but he admits he would've been happier if he had been able to battle his team-mate.
