Maldonado accepts blame for pit entry accident

– Lotus driver Pastor Maldonado has accepted the blame for a mistake during the second practice session in China which resulted in him making contact with the barriers at the pit lane entry. Maldonado locked up as he approached the corner and slid into the gravel before making contact with the barriers, damaging the front of his E22, bringing his session to a premature end. But the Venezuelan driver, who will drop five places on the grid as a result of his penalty for hitting Esteban Gutiérrez in Bahrain, remains optimistic that Lotus can score points in China.
