Ericsson apologetic after disastrous session

– Marcus Ericsson has apologised to his Caterham team after he crashed out of qualifying for the Malaysian Grand Prix during wet conditions at Sepang. Ericsson will start the race from the back of the grid after he lost control of his CT05 exiting Turn Three, clouting the outside barrier and careering through a polystyrene advertising board. The Swede's session also began badly as his car cut out while he was waiting in the queue at the start of Q1. "That was my first ever wet running in Formula 1, in any session, so from the first lap it was all a new experience for me," he said.
